"When you think there's no way out, Leave everything behind, You can live your life anew, What I left behind, Another night of weary dreams, What's been left behind, Another time where days of late are far away." Epica - Delirium
Phew. This has taken forever. Finally finished, or as finished as I'm willing to say it is.
This is my character Light from my comic I'm working on ever so slowly. I've been working on this since the beginning of last month and today I felt determined to finish it today since I finally have a bit of free time and no homework!
I think this is my first time ever doing really detailed, intricate interior or a building and using such dramatic light. The idea for the inside was inspired from Northern Kings music video of Don't Need Another Hero so I tried to mimic that although I kind of swayed away from it. I did plan to put another character in the chair/throne but decided it would be to obvious and put kind of a silhouette behind the the really large shinning star. I really can't explain it, but I google church interior to find someway to set it up and I found an image with something really baroque and ornate and tried to do something similar although I don't think it worked to well to being similar.
Textures are from cgtextures.com , I don't own those. Program: SAI & PSC5 Time: Like... 30 - 40 hours.
Thank you .w. I did it by identifying where all of the light in my piece was and how dark I wanted the surroundings. How I specifically did it was choosing 3 -4 colours for the hair, skin, shirt, skirt etc.. and blending them together. Using the darkest and colour that creates the biggest contrast for the darkest areas and for the lighter areas were almost white.
I start off by plotting base colours and where I want the dark or lights and then blending the colours together. I'm not sure if this helps It's kind of hard to explain... Its just kind of something you learn from observing...
So I don't know...
How did you do the lightning though?
Like from the light too the shadows of her back and background
How do you start off doing these kind of lightning?
I have difficulty doing that
